Ignite Therapy Services is a locally owned pediatric therapy practice based in Richmond, Virginia. We partner with children and families to support the development of speech, language, and feeding skills, while also offering myofunctional therapy for individuals of all ages.

We are proud to provide a collaborative, whole child approach through our private Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services for children. By working together across disciplines, our team supports each child’s growth in a meaningful, connected way.

Every child is unique, and we celebrate all ways of thinking, learning, and communicating. Our therapists use evidence based practices within a neurodiversity affirming framework to create individualized therapy that truly fits your child and your family.

We offer flexible service options to meet your needs, including sessions in the comfort of your home, at your child’s daycare, preschool, or private school, as well as through teletherapy. We take time to understand your goals, collaborate with other professionals, and support your child’s progress across environments.

SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY

Our speech-language therapy services are designed to help children build confidence, improve speech clarity, and communicate effectively in everyday life. 

Speech & Language therapy can support:

  • Articulation and speech sound development

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our Occupational Therapy services support children in developing the skills they need for everyday life.

MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY

Our myofunctional therapy program supports children, teens, and adults who experience challenges with the muscles of the face, jaw, lips, teeth, and tongue.

Orofacial Myofunctional therapy can support:

  • Low or forward tongue resting posture

  • Tongue thrust and atypical swallowing patterns

  • Mouth breathing and difficulty maintaining nasal breathing

  • Open mouth resting posture

  • Oral habit elimination, including thumb and finger sucking

  • Lip closure and lip strength

  • Tongue mobility and coordination

  • Chewing and swallowing patterns

  • Drooling

  • Oral motor coordination

  • Speech sound patterns related to orofacial function​

THUMB SUCKING ELIMINATION PROGRAM

Our 30 Day Thumb Sucking Elimination Program helps children ages 4 and older break persistent thumb or finger sucking habits through positive, child centered strategies. We focus on building awareness, confidence, and healthy oral habits without shame, punishment, or invasive appliances.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS & SCREENINGS

We are proud to partner with more than 20 preschools, private schools, and early childhood programs throughout the Richmond area. Through these collaborative partnerships, Ignite Therapy Services works alongside educators and families to support children’s communication, sensory, motor, feeding, and developmental needs within the environments where they learn and grow.

Our school based services may include speech and occupational therapy screenings, educator consultations, classroom support, and individualized therapy when appropriate. These partnerships allow us to identify concerns early, address barriers to participation, and connect families with meaningful support when additional services are needed.

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

At Ignite Therapy Services, we understand that the key to success for any child is for the individuals in direct care have the tools and knowledge they need to help children's speech and language skills flourish. We offer staff training to help with identification of speech-language delays, practical tips and tricks to build caregiver confidence in enhancing speech and language development, feeding developmental milestones, and the benefits of myofunctional therapy services.

A unique, intentional play class where your child will engage in purposeful play while growing their speech, cognition, sensory, fine motor and gross motor skills. Designed and led by a team of pediatric specialists—Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physical Therapists (PTs), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)—our play-based classes help your child grow through fun, hands-on activities. Children of ALL abilities are welcome!
